Turning Your Garage Into the Perfect Gym
May 13, 2010Can’t get to the gym? Is it too far away from your house? Would you prefer not to get a membership? Unfortunately, all of the excuses you made are about to come back to haunt you because on of the latest hot garage trends is to turn your very own garage into, you guessed it, a workout room.
That’s right, with just a few modifications, you can turn your garage into the best gym around town, and you’ll still have the room to work on your cars and trucks. How you ask?
1) Start with a storage system. Some good storage cabinets will be needed to keep both your gym and your automotive items out of the way of your new equipment. Choose a system that’s sturdy and that leaves plenty of room for exercise equipment.
2) Get a new floor. You need a tiled floor that you can lay down on, something that not only supports you as you do jumping jacks but that encourages you to spend time in your newly decorated garage.
3) Purchase some equipment. Remember, this doesn’t have to be the big stuff. You can exercise just as well with a pair of running shoes and a yoga ball as you can with high priced equipment. And now that you have a garage storage system, you can put all those little exercise aids away.
4) Get a sound system. Without a sound system, you won’t be motivated to really feel the burn, so invest in a state-of-the-art system and crank it up.
When you make these modifications, you’ll be all set to have a state-of-the-art gym in your garage. Just be sure you don’t let your mobile storage cabinets get in the way when you’re churning out the sit-ups!
